Summon Your Greatness

This is NOT a time for thinking small.

Now, as ever, the words of management guru Tom Peters reverberate:
"You can't shrink your way to greatness."

Now is the time for big thinkers to summon their GREATNESS.

Do you know what happens when you think small? Not only are you denying yourself the opportunity to make something of your life, but you are also denying others. You might be keeping your skills from people who could benefit. You might be showing your children a limiting role model, setting them up for a life of mediocrity. Your one idea could make people's lives easier. Your product could be the next "must have" that everyone is talking about, even Oprah! You could be denying your community. You could be preventing others from achieving their potential.

A big idea might only be a small idea that works - millions of times over. Think of cheap products that everyone uses eg a $2 highlighter pen, a potato peeler, Pritt stick.

Or a book that tens of thousands have read? How many have been inspired by the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series?

Now, today, right now, is the time to decide what you want to do, be or achieve and do something concrete to make it happen.

TAKE ACTION
Taking action is the real key ingredient to any success. Make up your mind that under no circumstances will continue to live the life you currently do. Then each day, work as hard as you can on your goals and ideas. Learn everything you can, put it to use and take action.

Thanks for this post. There's something really important here.

There's a tendency when things are as challenging as they are right now to just hunker down and try to get through. But that's a shrinking proposition. The more you focus on just making it through, the less prepared you are to see opportunity and to act on it when you do. So it has the potential to create a vicious cycle.

When you start to shift your focus from "making it through" to "summoning greatness," there is an energy shift to a more vibrant, energized state. The difference between the two is night and day. Making it through is a contracting state, while summoning greatness has an expansive energy to it.

Thanks for the reminder.
